Meet Carrie

Lunvera Founder and Indigenous Doula

Through the support of Bebo Mia and Brood, Carrie attended Bebo Mia’s Maternal Support Practitioner Certification in Spring 2026. Carrie supports families at all stages of perinatal care, from fertility through to postpartum. A mix of professional education, previous nanny experience with special needs children, and ongoing birth mentorship, Carrie is excited to offer support to you and your loved ones.

Lunvera started as Carrie’s dream to provide culturally-safe, trauma informed care for families after dealing with her own lived experiences of loss, a difficult birth lacking advocacy and support, and a simple love and care of all families bringing babies to the world.

Carrie is a mom to a wonderful 11-year old daughter (nicknamed Little B or just B) and wife/partner to Adam for almost 15 years. She’s a dog mom to Spongebob, a 80 lb Staffador who thinks he’s a lap dog. Carrie is happy to work in homes with animals (but will not care for your tarantula — sorry!).

After 20 years in leadership roles, Carrie’s path led her to university. She is currently studying Social Work and Indigenous Studies at Mount Royal University, pursuing Perinatal Clinical Therapy in the future. Carrie volunteers with a variety of different organizations, including Perinatal Mental Health Support with a local Calgary organization. Carrie is a member of the Student Advisory Board with Influence Mentoring Society and Student Amabassdor with the MRU Foundation. She plans to advocate for more doula care for families across Canada.
